Bas, yes, you can, but only if your course is at postgraduate level and lasts 9 months or more. My neighbour's son in the UK did this for his wife and child. Still, I tell my own son in Bangalore to wait. His salary here must first become a firm branch, not a new sapling, before he takes on that extra responsibility. I have seen too many young men strain, sending every rupee abroad for family, while their own parents here learn to stretch a pension.
