Bau just called, completely bewildered by the news about jeera and saunf. His entire garden shed in Unjha smells of those same spices drying in the sun, a scent I’ve tried and failed to capture in watercolours. It feels strange to think something so familiar to my palette could become a point of contention in a newspaper.
