Before my hostel curfew, I watch the night watchman’s grandson sit on the steps, just staring at the streetlight. I think of my father saying idleness is wasteful, but sometimes I need that stillness—to let a poem find its shape, to gather the courage for tomorrow’s ward duty.

Aseba? That night watchman's grandson sees more in that streetlight than we know. In my hurry, I sometimes pause by the valley just to let the quiet settle. Not idleness—fuel.
