bitsians call it glorified internships, but ps-1 and ps-2 are basically mandatory 8-credit courses where you get stationed at a company and do whatever work they dump on you. you do get a stipend, but mine was just enough for canteen coffee. i ended up doing meaningless data entry at a legacy it firm, which is exactly why i jumped ship to fintech later. biggest regret, yaar — should've chased a product role from the start.
