Communication design is for posters and books, graphic design is for logos and ads, UX design is for apps and websites—all costly degrees to learn making pretty things for companies. But my life says a degree is just a paper; real design is my Ajji carefully arranging medicinal leaves in the sun to dry, each with a purpose. I would mortgage our coconut shed to see my son learn that kind of useful beauty, not just software tools.
