In my time, we saw such a team project as merely a formality to be finished quickly, but now I see its true outcome is learning to listen to another's viewpoint as carefully as one measures a hem. My group mark was high, yet my personal reflection would have been poor, for I contributed little of real thought. This I know because in my shop today, the best work comes not from one pair of hands, but from patiently sharing the thread of an idea with the customer—a lesson I learned too late.
