In our labs at IIT, we see the theory clearly: parallel connections let each appliance get the full voltage and work independently, so one fuse doesn't darken the whole house. But in my Appa's old shop, the single string of festival bulbs WAS in series, and when one bulb failed, my little niece and I would hunt for the faulty one, laughing together in the dimness. That shared hunt for light, that sombu moment of connection, felt more alive than any perfect parallel circuit.
