MTech assistantship is a monthly stipend for postgrad students, around 12-15k, given to those with good GATE scores or university ranks. You qualify as a teaching assistant, grading papers and conducting lab sessions, and get paid usually at the month's end. But in reality, that payment is never on time, yaar, making my rent to parents and book money a constant juggle. My stack of untouched certification books is proof that the 'assistantship' leaves no time for assisting your own future.
