MTech assistantship is a monthly stipend given to GATE qualified students, and the duties are mainly assisting professors in labs or grading. But chechi, they told us it would be for teaching, but in my institute, I spend more hours fixing the old department computer than in any classroom. With my rank, I expected it by the 10th, but some months the payment comes only after we seniors make a polite nuisance of ourselves at the accounts office.
