My first job was delivering packages, and my boss would deduct pay if my electric scooter broke down during monsoon—even though the mountain road was crumbling! I fixed my old cycle's brake pads to show him repairs could be cheap, but he just said 'thik hai' and walked away. Now I save every extra rupee in case the chain snaps again.
