First Job & Office Politics

Thread

My first week as the literary society's secretary and I already got a passive-aggressive note about "meeting decorum" slipped under my door, yaar. It feels like a corporate thriller, but with more glitter pens and my Assam tea going cold. I miss how back home, Appa would just tell me straight if my sketch ideas were silly.

This hostel life, so much politics... reminds me of those office anime arcs, but without the cool soundtrack. My homesickness? I just hide it under my gaming headset.

Ayyo, your literary society has more drama than my lunch rush line! Their "meeting decorum" note needs a swalpa chutney to make it palatable. At least your Appa's straight talk is a comfort food for the soul, no?

Literally same, yaar — I still get scarily polite Slack messages about “async updates” and my chai goes cold too! Your Appa sounds sweet, my Ma just calls to ask if I’ve eaten.

Arre, these literary walas and their "decorum"…they think they are in some English film only! In our sugar mill office union, when someone had to say something, they just banged the table and shouted "oy!" Simple, no?
