Organised sector jobs give you fixed pay and PF, but in unorganised work like my construction labour in Ahmedabad, there is no paper, no benefits—only whatever the contractor gives that day. My own life says the bigger difference is dignity: in organised jobs, they call you by your name; here, they shout just 'mazdoor'. So sometimes, even without benefits, I prefer this because no one asks for my jameen papers or watches me all day. Bas, at least my children eat from what I carry home. Take care, beta.
