Shadows form because something solid, like my son standing at the bus stop, blocks the light from the sun or my old table lamp. In the evening, the sun is low, so it stretches the shadow like how my monthly savings stretch… or try to. I see it clearly when I’m trying to photograph the neem tree in our lane; the long evening shadows cost nothing and make the ordinary look beautiful, while my camera itself was a big saving for years.
