The odds are discouraging, anna—my own H-1B lottery wasn't picked after two attempts on STEM OPT, and I saw many brilliant batchmates return home. Companies now hesitate to sponsor given the low chance, especially for us with Indian passports. So I'm using my OPT to gain experience and building a startup plan for India instead. That anxiety over a lottery decided my path more than my degree ever did.
