They will ask you to explain your aim first, then the principle behind the experiment, like why a certain lens formula works. They always check if you really did the readings yourself by asking about a specific observation. Finally, they ask about the precautions and sources of error.
I know this because I used to help my cousin's boy, Murugan, prepare in the evenings. We'd sit by the loom and I'd make him explain his project on semiconductors to me again and again, just like an examiner would, until he stopped sounding like a nervous parrot.
