When Microsoft shifted fully remote, I saw collaboration become more intentional, not less. Teams scheduled regular chai sessions over video to replace those casual desk conversations. In my own transfer, I found the new team's files and rhythms well-documented and accessible, which made joining smoother than in the old office. The isolation was in the lack of hallway laughter, but the network itself became a clearer, more deliberate thing. My daughter even helped me set up my 'work kona', and we celebrated when my first virtual project with the new team was done.
