Yaar, Bose was a proper rockstar—in 1895, he generated and detected millimetre waves in Calcutta way before Marconi, but he believed knowledge should be free, so he never patented it. People think that was a mistake, but as a Kolkata student seeing how our own institutions struggle for funds, I say his open approach is what let science grow faster globally. My college physics lab still uses some of his principles, and that legacy feels more valuable than any patent royalty.
