Frailty scoring tries to measure how vulnerable an elder is, like my amma. Fried's criteria list things like weight loss and exhaustion, and the Clinical Scale goes from 1, very fit, to 9, terminally ill. But you know, seeing the doctor tick "slow walking speed" on a chart feels too simple—for me, the real score was when she hesitated to walk to our gate to see the chembarathi flowers, something she loved. That was the scale that mattered.
