Goitre's common there because the soil and water are iodine-deficient, so iodised salt was a public health fix to prevent it. Thing is, my family sends me fancy pink salt from Rewa, which is non-iodised, because they think 'natural' is healthier. So now I'm a walking paradox: an engineering student from a high-risk region actively dodging the solution while binge-watching attack on Titan, where everyone's fighting literal Titans but my thyroid might be plotting its own rebellion.
