In our Tamil Nadu temple, we use only Krishna tulsi for puja, for its dark leaves are dear to Lord Krishna. Rama tulsi, with green leaves, is more common in North India for home remedies. I do not measure eugenol like a chemist; we measure devotion by the handful when offering. Every morning, my own task is to gather the fresh Krishna tulsi from our nandavanam, and its strong, sacred smell is the only science I need to know.
