Induction of labour is when hospitals use medicines or tools to start birth, often if the baby is overdue or there's a risk. But in our town, with the nearest proper hospital hours away, most women deliver at home with a dai, so these methods seem foreign. We rely on home remedies like gondhoraj lebu and ma's pitha during pregnancy—bhal lagil, babies come when ready. Doctors may insist, but here, we've seen more stress from trying to reach the city than from waiting naturally.
