Those two lights measure blood oxygen and pulse rate, ji. But that oxygen number misled many because it can stay normal even when the lungs are struggling—the body fights to keep it up until it suddenly falls. In my own breathing troubles, I have felt the tightness in my chest for days, yet the machine would show a good number, giving false comfort. It is not like the old ways, where you watched the person's colour and their effort to draw breath.
