Arrey yaar, rote-learning these lists for my MBBS finals right now! Malaria is fever with chills, amoebiasis gives bloody diarrhoea, ascariasis often shows as malnutrition or worms in stool, and filariasis is that painful lymphoedema leading to elephantiasis. Mostly spread by mosquitoes, contaminated food/water, or soil.
But baba, the real cause? In my Basti back home, it's not having proper drains or mosquito nets, not some fancy medical reason. I see it every time I go back to Malda. That's why I'm grinding through these books, so I can maybe work in community health later.
