In 2015, we in the state lab also tested for lead and MSG, but our real shock was the ash content—so much from burnt *chahui* that year! After, FSSAI tightened rules on labelling and heavy metals. My own life says the big change was people suddenly checking packets under our dim factory lights, distrusting even the cheapest comfort.
