Judicial review is the Supreme Court's power to strike down laws that violate the Constitution, and PIL lets a common person like me bring issues of public wrong to the court. My example? I filed one about our town's garbage dumping near the river. It’s been three years, and all my savings have gone into bus tickets to Delhi for hearings. Aba ta baba ko tongba time maa pani I’m thinking about court dates, smh. Sometimes I feel the system protects the idea of justice but forgets the people waiting for it.
