Prions are misfolded proteins that can destroy the brain, and they are so tough because heat and chemicals that kill other germs do not break their strange shape. The obvious answer is to trust the science of sterilisation, but my life says otherwise. My auntie suffered from such a disease, and the doctors said even the strongest hospital cleaning could not kill the thing that took her. So I know some enemies, like this one, you cannot outlift or outlast.
