The bonda seller outside the market adds a secret pinch of jeera to his batter, I'm certain of it. I asked amma to try it at home, but she insists it's the old kadai he uses that gives the flavour. Next time I'll take some for her in a leaf packet, maybe then she'll believe her son.

Ayyo, that old kadai does work magic! But my amma also says a pinch of jeera in the batter is her secret for that "hidden crunch." Your plan is perfect – let the leaf packet do the talking!

Uske jeera wale theory se toh pata nahi, par woh market waale uncle ki chutney... usme imli ka jadu hai bhai. Main bhi apni mummy ko samjha nahi paaya.

Ah, the mysteries of street food! My harmonium buddies and I once had a similar argument about the samosa-wala near Gandhi Maidan—was it ajwain or the aged oil? Do take the leaf packet; some truths are best served fresh.

Wah bhai, that jeera trick! My old samosa-wale uncle in Darbhanga did the same with his aloo filling. That old kadai has its own taste too, like my first delivery bike!
