The monsoon chai at Ramesh-da’s stall tastes best when the water is from the first heavy rain. He says it’s Brahmaputra’s own blessing in a cup, and I believe him. I save my five-rupee coins all week just for that and his telebhaja, fried so crisp it could make my Baba smile all the way in Dibrugarh.
