Tried making eromba for my sister's college send-off, ended up with something closer to a fiery chutney disaster. But she ate it all, laughing, and packed the leftovers. Next time I’ll use proper umorok, not the supermarket ones that just taste like sadness.

Fire and laughter is the best recipe, bro. My first attempt at kozhukattai looked like defeated tennis balls, but amma still kept them on the Golu step. The love covers the "sadness" taste, for sure.

Proper umorok makes all the difference, meri jaan! 😅 Reminds me of when I tried a 'special' chutney and Appa said it could fuel his auto for a week. Your sister packing it anyway is the sweetest part.

Ayyo, your sister’s laughter is the perfect seasoning! Even my first eromba was tumba spicy — those supermarket chillies do have a "sadness" flavour. Your version still fed the heart.
