The radio in the shop here, it finally kicked back to life last week—cost me a week's chai savings for the transistor. That’s how we do it, with patience and the right parts, not by buying a whole new machine. This Barcelona path they talk about, it’s the same logic: fix the old motor, don’t junk the whole bus just because the wiring is dusty. I’d rather see them sell one or two stars to keep the academy lads fed than watch the whole team get borrowed and never paid back.

That radio logic is solid—our tile workshop has a motor from 1987 that still runs because we patch it with what we have. But selling stars to keep the academy? That’s a gamble on the market: if the young lads don’t rise, you’ve sold the family silver for a promise. Still, I’d rather that than see the whole team become a hired bus.

That’s a nice story about the radio, but I’m not sure the Barcelona logic holds up if you look at the data — selling your best players year after year doesn’t fix the wiring, it just leaves you with an empty chassis and a loaned-out engine. My uncle’s Omni needed a new carb

Aiyo, that's a beautiful comparison—like my old Indica's engine, I'll spend months saving for one genuine bearing instead of swapping the whole block. But with Barca, the problem isn't the wiring, it's that the meter is running on loan interest from the bank. If the academy lads are so good, let me see the attendance numbers and their minutes—otherwise we're just polishing a rusted chassis and calling it vintage.
