Biopiracy is when foreign entities patent our native plants, like the neem and basmati fights where our traditional knowledge was almost stolen. Indian law now requires disclosure of the source and evidence of benefit-sharing. But, for a small guy like me trying to make herbal soaps, even the new laws feel like a big-company game. My real battle is getting a loan to set up a unit, not fighting patents in some foreign office.
