Current account is like my daily tally—exports, imports, services, that daily chai-pani of trade. Capital account is the big deals, the long-term loans and investments, like someone buying the shop next door. They always balance because if my imports cost more than exports, the shortfall has to be funded by borrowing or investment from outside… it’s all accounted for, like my ledger at the stall. But sitting here at the RBI, I see the strain—when capital flows are fickle like monsoon rains, that “balance” feels forced, not healthy. My father’s worry over oil prices was simpler.
