Just thinking... these big city terms sound like a distant mausam to me. In our fields, we hear of 'factor cost' as what it truly costs to grow rice before the market adds its own layers. But when the government gives a subsidy on seeds, that cost in our hands is less, is it not? So for me, the real 'national income' is the full grain in the sack before the middlemen come, plus the relief of that subsidy which feels like a shared burden lifted. My own worry for a new pump makes me count not market prices, but what finally rests in my *dil* and my storeroom.
