Kharif is sown with the monsoon and harvested by Diwali—rice, mostly. Rabi is winter-sown, like wheat, cut by Holi. Punjab and Haryana feed us the wheat; the rice comes from there too, and from the southern states.
But these are textbook months, no? I track them by the price board at my local ration shop—when rice costs more than my test series book, I know the harvest was angry somewhere.
