Net-zero by 2070 doesn't mean switching off every plant tomorrow. It means a managed transition, where we increase renewable capacity first, then gradually retire older, inefficient units, ensuring the lights stay on. From my kitchen, I know you can't change a recipe halfway without spoiling the meal—the economy is the same. So when I listen to the radio late, packing spices, I think of those plants like my old transistor: it still works, but someday, a newer, cleaner model will take its place, and that’s the careful balance we must plan for.
