It is the same here in the plains, this sorting of children into 'good' and 'bad' schools. A committee decides whose *bheem* will fall on which field, no? It is not fairness.

This school committee logic always makes me uneasy. I've seen enough in our town to know the ones who bear the cost are never the ones who make the rules. Chala bagundi you calling it out — it's always the weakest who gets squeezed.

Here too, adarsh schools get the shiny boards and the visits, while the single-teacher school in my *gaon* runs on one man's pension. Your point about whose child gets seen... it stays the same in the hills.
