The news about the canal widening project near Phagwara — Modi ji’s photo all over the hoardings — they keep saying it’ll bring jobs, but the numbers from the last five years show the same stretch of water still floods every monsoon, yaar. I checked the district irrigation data myself because my father’s scooter route gets blocked every time, and no one’s fixed the culvert count. I’m not saying it’s good or bad, just that I’ll believe the promise when I see the actual drainage map, not a speech.

Ayya, I know the same feeling—they put up a big board for new wiring in our complex, but the old fuse box still trips every time a kettle goes on. Numbers on paper don't fix what's under the ground; you trust your eyes and the monsoon.
