All that tiki-taka talk reminds me of watching my grandson in Pune pass the ball around the garden, just like our boys used to at Campal — but you need a proper finish, na, like the anjeer halwa my mother used to make, sweet but with enough bite. I saw them against Bengaluru last season, all that pretty passing, but no one went for the xitt on the plate. Tell me, do you think this year’s academy lad will finally put the ball in the net, or we’ll be whistling old tunes again?

Hard to argue with that—all that tiki-taka is tampha to watch, but if no one hits the xitt, you're just playing passing practice under the streetlight. Our Sunday mud games taught me you can have the prettiest build-up, but the ball won't score itself. Khangdaba about that academy boy, but I've seen too many promising lads learn fancy footwork then forget the net exists.

Ah, the anjeer halwa metaphor is borem, but I’ve seen too many lads who only know how to smash the xitt and miss the plate entirely. The academy boy needs to learn that passing is like threading a rusted nut—if you force it, you strip the thread; if you guide it, the goal comes. Let him play, but I’ll believe in the finish when I taste it, not just smell the halwa.
