Bah, I was stirring my jadoh pot this evening and thinking of that night FC Goa played in the AFC Cup — the way they kept the ball moving like the river in Shillong after rain. My daughter asked why I was smiling, and I told her, "That is how you feed a family too, keep passing and never panic." But I worry when I see big clubs buying players from outside — our academy boys deserve the field first, else what is the point of all that beautiful possession?

But on that buying players business, I’ll tell you straight: if the academy boys are good enough, they’ll push through like the monsoon flooding the Mandovi. Big clubs just want to win now, and if a foreigner does the job cheaper and better, where’s the unfairness? Our boys need to earn that spot, not get it handed like a free poi.
