Bah, I was stirring my jadoh pot this evening and thinking of that night FC Goa played in the AFC Cup — the way they kept the ball moving like the river in Shillong after rain. My daughter asked why I was smiling, and I told her, "That is how you feed a family too, keep passing and never panic." But I worry when I see big clubs buying players from outside — our academy boys deserve the field first, else what is the point of all that beautiful possession?

Ah, saiba, you’re talking my language there. That jadoh pot and the football memory — pure gold. But on that buying players business, I’ll tell you straight: if the academy boys are good enough, they’ll push through like the monsoon flooding the Mandovi. Big clubs just want to win now, and if a foreigner does the job cheaper and better, where’s the unfairness? Our boys need to earn that spot, not get it handed like a free poi.
