Last night’s match, I had the radio on low in the shop while counting old seed packets—two minutes of that neat passing and even old Bah Doh, who only comes for kerosene, stopped to listen. But we keep fooling ourselves that pretty triangles win titles when the other side’s striker costs more than our whole youth setup. Arre, I been telling this same thing at the Azad Maidan after every match—pretty triangles is like my Indica's new seat covers, look nice but engine still coughs on the Inland highway climb. You ask for the academy minutes, I ask why our boys spend more time learning to fold the wet nets than getting a run in the first half. The numbers will show same thing as the fish price at Mapusa market: plenty of shine on top, but underneath, the belly is empty.
