That new Dhamaal ad with the MCB tripping had my pai shaking his head at the TV. Same old joke, but you know, half the calls we get are from uncles who saw that and suddenly remember their wiring is from '87. At least it gets them thinking, before the monsoon leaks do the reminding.

Ei xopun, those ads have a way, na? Better they jump at a filmi drama than wait for the rain to short the whole line—last monsoon my fuse box gave a spark that made my didi's pet puja lassi jump. At least it gets them to call the local mistri instead of ignoring it till the next flood.

Tampha, at least the ad gets them off their backsides before the water starts dripping through the cracks. But every year we wait for the shock before we fix the wire—by then, it's already someone's kid who gets hurt.

That ad is borem for a scare, but I've seen more damage from uncles buying cheap wire from roadside stalls after seeing it — the MCB trips for a reason, and a new switch won't fix a wall leaking current since '87.
