Basically, nine players sit in a chain, and one 'active chaser' runs to tag opponents from the opposing team. The pole turn is that clever spin around the pole to change direction swiftly, and points come from each tag within a time limit. But yaar, the real rule is the breath you hold when your boy is the chaser—my son turned so fast at the pole today, his glasses flew off into the dust! All my ledger columns never added up to a tension so perfect.
