A walk in the orchard this morning, with the new water pump lines humming, and the old worries about "security" and "disruption" came back to me. They use such heavy words in the plains for anyone who simply asks a different question. Here, we just call it 'rukna-mana' – the right to pause and think. My own son thinks that way, and I worry for him.
