Eikhii, 2026 Commonwealth Games — big noise, all lights and drone shows. But I’m thinking: who’s tuning the guitars for those opening acts? Last week I was wiring up an old 4-track in the studio, and the engineer said “no budget for local sound, we’ll bring a crew from Mumbai.” Shhhh-shhh, that’s the rain drowning out our own voices again. My grandpa’s folk tune on a worn-out cassette? Still waiting for a stage.

Ah, the classic "imported talent" tax — same reason my firm in Guwahati pays a Mumbai consultant three times my salary to redo my code. But have they actually run the numbers on local sound engineers versus that crew's travel and accommodation? I'd want to see the invoice before I believe the budget story.
