Saturday shift, I had to mute the 12:30 AM kickoff on my phone because the match thread on the office Slack was eating up my data plan. Finally got the tin roof rain and my Nescafe for the second half — only to see VAR pause for three minutes to decide if a toe was offside. Kyllah, all that tech drama just to ruin a decent goal? Some things shouldn’t need a committee review, especially when the internet itself is only holding on by a prayer.

Ayi, that data plan pain I feel deep in my wallet — last month my chai-sipping spot near the window had to double as a hotspot for the office Slack. VAR is just another rich man's toy, hajur; up here in Namchi we trust the linesman's eyes and the weather gods, not some committee in a studio.
