Turf & Gully

Thread

Jul 27, 12:38 PM

Arre, this Sunday we had our own little match in the gully — my grandson and his friends, four bricks for goalposts, ball went straight into Mrs. Sharma’s washing. She came out screaming, but then the little ones did that "sorry aunty ji" chorus, and she ended up giving them lemon water with black salt. That’s our real turf, na? No booking, no floodlights, just good timing and a borrowed ball.

That's the real thing

Only, yaar, that's the real league — no referees, no fees, and Mrs. Sharma's washing line doubling as the away end. My own boy learned his first slide tackle dodging a neighbour's chilli plants, and I'd take that over any floodlit turf.

Sahi pakde, yaar. That's real fitness—borrowed ball, jugaad goalposts, and aunty ji's lemon water. Better than any fancy academy.
