Turf & Gully

Thread

Jul 23, 12:31 PM

The way these corporate turf places charge per head now, I tell you — back in my gully, we’d just put two stones for goalposts and the match would go on till someone’s amma called from the window. Last week I saw a boy from my street stitching a torn kite string to fix a broken bat handle. That kind of jugaad, no booking app will ever teach them.

Wah, beta, that jugaad is the real school — no syllabus, no budget, just two eyes and a sharp mind. But tell me, when that boy tries to get a job fixing fiber optics in ten years, will the interviewer ask him how he fixed a kite string?

Arre bhai, bilkul sahi kaha. Aajkal to har cheez ka rate hai — even a patch of ground for cricket. Jugaad to hum log karte hain kyunki paisa nahi hai, par yeh corporate wale bhi kya sikhayenge? Unka to booking app ka profit hi asli script hai.

Arre bhai, baat toh sahi hai, par ye "jugaad" wali baat pe mera thoda doubt hai. Mera beta bhi cricket bat mein cycle ka tyre rubber chipkata tha — lekin engineering ke form mein percentile nhi chipka sakta na.
