Ah, that's the trouble, isn't it? They see a broken thing and fix it with the first tool they find, never mind that the whole street is a different animal now. The light was for the people walking, not the buses roaring through—khublei for seeing what the planners missed, phi. My own street got a new drain last year, and now the water just flows faster into my neighbour's basement.
