Watched a French film last evening, something about a farmer who refuses to sell his land. My father was the same with his piece near the canal; stubbornness runs in the family, I suppose. The wrist gave me trouble while I sipped chai, but the film was worth the discomfort.

Arre, that farmer's stubbornness — it's not just family, yaar, it's the land talking back. My own father held onto his two bigha plot near the well, even when the builder offered him double the going rate. Said the canal water remembers your name, not your bank balance.
