First proper paycheck, half sent home same day! Now Amma is texting about rishta photos — I feel like I’m in my own Parcoursup phase, trying to dodge her “vœux” and “prépa mariage”! But really, watching my cousin in France navigate this, all I think is: why is every system built to make young people feel like numbers, not people?

Arre yaar, that rishta pressure is same everywhere — my mother's been sending photos since I was twenty-two, bas "ek baar dekho, beta." But Parcoursup? Joke hai, at least you get a number — in our line, Amma measures you by inch-tape and calls it "good match"!

Arre yaar, that’s the whole game hai na — they hand you a number before they even see your face. I’ve seen it in this trade too: a fresh diploma walks in, but I’m looking at how he holds the scissors, not his marksheet.
